Now that you've gotten approval to use Tidepool and your team is aware of the transition, you should begin setting up your workstation. Here are the most important things to check off your list:
Prepare to use Tidepool Uploader
Coordinate with your IT team to get Tidepool Uploader installed on all clinic computers with where devices uploads will occur. Silent install is available if needed. If you work in an all-remote care center, your patients can install Tidepool Uploader on their own computer at home.
Navigate our Supported Devices page
We recommend you bookmark https://www.tidepool.org/devices so you can stay up-to-date on all the blood glucose meters, continuous glucose monitors, insulin pumps, and other devices that can be uploaded using Tidepool.
Obtain necessary cables for performing device uploads
Here is a comprehensive list of all the cables you'll need to upload your patients' diabetes devices. If you cannot access this file, please email support@tidepool.org so we can send it to you in another format. Each of our Device Upload Guides also calls out the specific cable needed for each device.
Access Tidepool Web
Log into app.tidepool.org on a Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge browser. Consider bookmarking this page on all clinic computers for ease of access.
Confirm all required domains are allowed on your network
Your IT team may need to review our list of domains to ensure you have access to all Tidepool sites and resources.
Be aware of potential software conflicts
There are a few device-specific softwares which may be installed on your clinic computers that will interfere with uploads to Tidepool. Please ensure the following softwares are closed and not running in the background of your computer while attempting to use Tidepool Uploader:
- Tandem t:connect Uploader
- Dexcom Clarity Uploader
- Accu-Chek 360
Test Tidepool Uploader before go-live
Special policies may be required to allow Tidepool Uploader to communicate with devices, in particular OneTouch Verio blood glucose meters. If you have compatible demo devices in your practice, we recommend you create a test patient account and attempt to upload. If you need any assistance testing Tidepool Uploader, email clinic@tidepool.org.
