This article assumes:
- You are a Clinician and want to understand the differences between the Tidepool Web views and what they can provide for reviewing diabetes data compared to the PDF you can print, save, or upload to your EHR.
Tidepool Web Views are dynamic and interactive
When interacting with data on the Basics, BG Log, Daily, or Trends View, you can hover or click on elements to see additional detail and context.
For example, on the Daily view you can mouse over a bolus from an insulin pump to see detailed information from the bolus wizard.
The window that appears will display information such as IOB at the time of delivery, personal profile settings used for dose calculation, and amount of insulin delivered.
Comparatively, our PDF is streamlined to only display the amount of the insulin that was delivered in each bolus dose, categorized in 3-hour segments.
Another example is hovering over CGM or BGM data points on the Daily view to see the exact timestamp and value of each reading. This is exclusive to viewing data on Tidepool Web.
Similarly, details for a bolus override or bolus underride are available within the Daily View.
Tidepool PDFs provide streamlined, static summary data
In a busy clinical setting, viewing a PDF is a helpful way to quickly see and review diabetes data for your patients without having to log into the Tidepool Web platform. While there are benefits of being able to view and interact with the data, the PDF lets you see important info quickly and allow for simple conversations around therapy.
From the Basics section of the PDF, you can quickly see our demo patient James Jellyfish has had 3% Time in Range below 70 mg/dL. This data could prompt a conversation about medication adjustments or lifestyle recommendations to reduce the risk of severe hypoglycemia.
PDF includes Ambulatory Glucose Profile (AGP) report
A standard in diabetes care, the AGP report is now included in the PDF report from Tidepool Web. You can include 7 or 14 days for the blood glucose meter (BGM) version and 14 or 30 days for the continuous glucose meter (CGM) version.
Unfamiliar with AGP? Read about it here.
PDFs can be uploaded to your patient's chart
You can print the PDF if you like a tangible report to work with. Many of our clinician users opt to save the PDF to a secure and approved location on their computer or attach it to the patient's chart in the EHR.
We now offer EHR integration to automate the process of generating and sending the PDF to your patient's chart. Interested in having this for your clinic? Book a time to learn more about Tidepool+ here: Tidepool+ Initial Discussion Self-Schedule Link
