This article assumes you have:
- A Tidepool account — you can create one at tidepool.org/signup.
- Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) data uploaded to a Tidepool account.
The Tidepool Web Trends view allows you to dig deeper into your data. It is designed to be highly interactive and dynamic. Here, you can view patterns in glucose values from a blood glucose meter or a CGM. You have the option to include or exclude days of the week per your preference. There are also 3-hour time blocks so that your eye can easily zoom in on specific parts of the day.
Overview
In the CGM view, each colored box represents the average glucose value for that 30 minute time segment. This average takes into account all readings in that time segment from the chosen reporting period. The default reporting period for the Trends view is 2 weeks.
You can adjust what you see in the Trends view by clicking on one of the four options to show all (100% of Readings), Most of your CGM data (80% of Readings), Half of your CGM data (50% of Readings), or just the middle of your CGM readings (Median).
Weeks in View
You can select 1 week, 2 weeks, or 4 weeks of your CGM trend data by clicking one of the buttons
Day Selector
Similarly, you can select which days of the week are included if you would like to focus on weekdays versus weekends, or even a specific day of the week. This feature allows you to take a very personalized approach with viewing data. For example, you could zoom in on data from only Monday/Wednesday/Friday or only weekends.
Day to Day Details
If you want to dial into a specific day, hover your mouse cursor over the trend lines and you will see the time frame in hours for the area you are hovering over and the date the CGM line came from. Clicking on it will take you to the Daily view for that specific day.
CGM to Blood Glucose Meter [BGM]
If you wish to see your BG data as Trends instead of CGM, click the toggle to switch between the two. If you do not have CGM data, this will be the default option selected for this view.
For a breakdown of the Trends view for BGM data, please see Viewing Diabetes Data - Trends (BGM).
Changing Dates
Use the left and right arrows to adjust date range for data analysis. The time period in view will shift by the same number of weeks that are in view the number of days selected (see Weeks in View above). To view your most recent data, select the icon next to the right arrow.
