Uploading your CareSens N Premier, Dual, or N Plus BT Meter

This article assumes you have:
  • A Tidepool Account - if you do not have a Tidepool account, you can create one for free at tidepool.org/signup.
  • Installed the latest version of the Tidepool Uploader - if you have not installed the Tidepool Uploader, you can download the latest version at tidepool.org/uploader.
  • A CareSens N Premier, Dual & or Plus BT meter.
  • If using Bluetooth, a macOS computer with Bluetooth 4.0 (skip to section)
  • If using USB, this cable from i-SENS to connect your CareSens N Premier or Dual, or N Plus BT meter

1a. Connect your device (using USB)

  • Launch Tidepool Uploader and log in to your account.
  • Confirm "CareSens N Premier, Dual & N Plus BT" is one of your Devices. You can change your devices by selecting "Choose Devices" from the menu under your name. After checking the box, click Done.

2a. Upload Your Data

  • Confirm the Tidepool Uploader is set to the right time zone.
  • Click "Upload" to upload your data.

1b. Pairing your meter with Tidepool Uploader (using Bluetooth)

  • Launch Tidepool Uploader and log in to your account.
  • Confirm "CareSens N Premier, Dual & N Plus BT (using Bluetooth)" is one of your Devices. You can change your devices by selecting "Choose Devices" from the menu under your name. After checking the box, click Done.

  • CareSens N Premier & Dual Bluetooth Pairing Instructions:
    • Hold in S-button Until “SET” appears on screen.
    • Press right arrow to select “YES” and press S-button.
    • Press right arrow until it says bT PAIr”
    • Press S-button - screen should say “PIn”.
    • Click "Upload" in the Tidepool Uploader.
    • If this is the first time Tidepool Uploader has tried to connect to a Bluetooth device, you will see this prompt. Click OK to allow Tidepool Uploader to use Bluetooth.

    • Enter the PIN displayed on the meter and press "OK".
  • CareSens N Plus BT Meter Bluetooth Pairing Instructions:

    • With the meter turned off, press and hold the down arrow on the left side for three seconds to enter pairing mode.

    • The Bluetooth symbol and "bT" will appear and "YES" will blink at the bottom of the screen.

    • Press the select button to select "YES".
    • The Bluetooth symbol will flash and a "2" and "tYPE" will appear on the screen.
    • Click Upload in Tidepool Uploader, which will cause the pairing prompt to appear in macOS.
    • If this is the first time Tidepool Uploader has tried to connect to a Bluetooth device, you will see this prompt. Click OK to allow Tidepool Uploader to use Bluetooth.

    • You should then see the connection request from the CareSens N Plus BT meter appear on your Mac screen. Click Connect to allow Tidepool Uploader to connect to the meter.

    • After connecting, the meter will begin uploading.

2b. Uploading Your Meter using Bluetooth After Already Paired

CareSens N Premier & Dual Bluetooth:

  • Press and hold in the right arrow on the meter until “bT SEnd” appears on the screen and then click "Upload" in Tidepool Uploader.

CareSens N Plus Bluetooth:

  • Press and hold the down arrow on the left side until the screen says "bT".
  • Press the Select button on the right side when you see the flashing "YES"
  • Click "Upload" in Tidepool Uploader.

  • After the upload is complete, you can upload another device or click "See data" to view your uploaded data.
