Clinicians can now assign a diabetes type for their patients, which can be seen when looking at their diabetes data in the information panel at the top of the page. Additionally, for Tidepool+ customers, you can see this on the patient list.
The following types of diabetes are now available to assign to patients:
- Type 1
- Type 2
- Type 3c
- Gestational
- Pre-diabetes
- LADA (Type 1.5)
- MODY/Monogenic
- Other
When adding a new patient
When using Add New Patient you will see Diabetes Type listed as one of the optional selections you can make for your patient when inputting their information.
- Click the Add New Patient button from your patient list
- Along with the other information you input for your patient, select their type of diabetes from the list.
- You can scroll to see the entire list of options.
- Complete the other information fields for the patient and click Add Patient.
When Editing Patient Details
Similarly, when you either click the ellipse ( ... ) icon from the patient list and Edit Patient Information, or the Edit Patient Details button when viewing patient data, you can also set their diabetes type.
- After clicking the option to Edit Patient Details, select Diabetes Type from the dropdown.
- Click Save Changes to confirm the change.
Viewing Diabetes Type as a Clinician
When you click on a patient from the patient list, you will now see their Diabetes Type listed along with their Name, DOB, and MRN.
Additionally, if you are using Tidepool+ you will see Diabetes Type listed under the patient's name with their other details in the population health dashboard.
