This article assumes:
- Your patient is using a device with FreeStyle Libre systems data, and it is uploaded to LibreView*
- Your patient lives in the United States.
- You have your patient's email address.
- You already created the patient's account. If you are making a new patient account and want to link their LibreView* account data, see this guide.
- See Data Special Notes for additional information
- Log into Tidepool Web at app.tidepool.org using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge to access your Clinic Workspace dashboard
- Search for your patient by name or click on Show All to locate your patient
- To the right of your patient details click ... and then Bring Data into Tidepool
- Click Email Invite to the right of the FreeStyle Libre logo
- If you have not previously added the patient's email address, you will be prompted to do so. After adding their email, click Send Invite.
- If you already had added the patient's email address, clicking Email Invite in Step 4 will send the invite. Either way, you have now invited your patient to link their LibreView* account to Tidepool Web so you can view it in their account.
Your patient will receive an email that looks like this, but with your clinic's workspace name in place of [Seastar Endocrinology].
Your patient then clicks or taps Connect your FreeStyle Libre and is walked through the process of logging into their LibreView account to link it to Tidepool.
Data Special Notes
- In rare cases, very small numbers of duplicate CGM data are being sent from LibreView* to connected Tidepool accounts. This should only affect impacted accounts by slightly biasing the calculated statistics, and will not affect data visualizations.
- For users who have connected their FreeStyle Libre systems account to Tidepool and are using the Libre App†, we may not be able to determine whether your device was a FreeStyle Libre 2 or 2+ (which sends data every 15 minutes) or a FreeStyle Libre 3 or 3+ (which sends data every 5 minutes). For all data received via the Libre App, we assume a cadence of every 5 minutes. This means that users of FreeStyle Libre 2 may see sensor usage percentages that are lower than the actual value. Additionally, the reported time estimates in the Avg. Daily Time in Range widget will be lower than they should be (although the percentages are correct).
- We currently do not ingest or visualize sensor “scans” or “views,” which represent values generated when you scanned your sensor with your reader‡ or app (or, in the case of FreeStyle Libre 3, when you viewed your app). We also do not ingest or visualize data from test strips uploaded via the FreeStyle Libre reader. This information is available in LibreView, but not in Tidepool.
