Receiving an email from Tidepool to connect your Oura account to Tidepool (most common)
The images below represent doing these steps from a smartphone, but you can also do this from your computer.
- After you have received your Oura Ring, you should receive an email from Tidepool with the subject, "Final step: Connect your Oura data to Tidepool"
- In that email, tap the Connect your Oura account button
- Tap I Understand on the screen that follows after reviewing the Your Body, Your Data page
- Enter your email address for your Oura account and tap Continue
- Tap Send Code and check your email for the 6-digit code Oura sends you
- Enter the 6-digit code from Oura and tap Submit Code
- Review the data types you are choosing to sync from your Oura account to Tidepool.
If you prefer not to share reproductive health–related information, you can uncheck Reproductive Cycle Data. For more details about how certain data may relate to reproductive health insights, see this question in the FAQ. - After you are done, tap Back to Tidepool to return back to the Tidepool Data Platform

- If you do not have or cannot find the email from Tidepool asking to connect your Oura account to Tidepool, use your smartphone and visit app.tidepool.org and log in with your email address and password
- After logging in, tap on the three lines to access the menu
- Tap on Devices
- Tap on + Add a Device
- To the right of the ŌURA logo, tap on Connect
- Tap I Understand on the screen that follows after reviewing the Your Body, Your Data page
- Enter your email address for your Oura account and tap Continue
- Tap Send Code and check your email for the 6-digit code Oura sends you
- Enter the 6-digit code from Oura and tap Submit Code
- Review the data types you are choosing to sync from your Oura account to Tidepool.

Using your Computer to connect your Oura account to Tidepool
- If you do not have or cannot find the email from Tidepool asking to connect your Oura account to Tidepool, using your computer, navigate to app.tidepool.org and log in with your email address and password
- Click on Devices on the blue navigation bar
- Click either Connect a Device Account if you see the large button, otherwise click the + Add a Device
button
- To the right of the ŌURA logo, click on Connect
- Click I Understand on the screen that follows after reviewing the Your Body, Your Data page
- Enter your email address for your Oura account and click Continue
- Click Send Code and check your email for the 6-digit code
- Enter the 6-digit code from Oura and click Submit Code
- Review the data types you are choosing to sync from your Oura account to Tidepool.

Changing what Oura data you share with Tidepool
Should you decide you want to change what data you share from your Oura account to Tidepool, you can make those changes by disconnecting your Oura account from Tidepool and reconnecting with the new choices for data sharing.
First, you need to disconnect your Oura account from Tidepool
Smartphone
- From your smartphone, visit app.tidepool.org and log into your Tidepool account
- Tap on the three lines icon and then tap on Devices
- Tap Disconnect to the right of the ŌURA logo
Computer
- From your computer, visit app.tidepool.org and log into your Tidepool account
- Click on Devices from the blue navigation bar
- Click Disconnect to the right of the ŌURA logo
Reconnect your Oura account to Tidepool with new data sharing choices
- On the same page from your smartphone or computer, click or tap on + Add a Device
- Click or tap on Connect to the right of the ŌURA logo
- Click or tap I Understand on the screen that follows after reviewing the Your Body, Your Data page
- Enter your email address for your Oura account and click or tap Continue
- Click or tap Send Code and check your email for the 6-digit code ŌURA sends you
- Enter the 6-digit code from Oura and click or tap Submit Code
- Next is where you make new choices about what data you want to share to Tidepool from your Oura account. For example, if you do not want to share Reproductive Cycle Data, uncheck this box to exclude it from your consent. You could also consider Tag Data if you have used it to make tags about your reproductive health for example. Lastly, your Sleep, Readiness, & Activity Data are foundational parts of Oura accounts, but Readiness, for example, contains Body Temperature and could be considered for exclusion, depending on your preferences. - Review the choices you have made and click or tap Submit Consent
Stop participating in the RIPPLE Study
Should you decide you no longer want to participate in the RIPPLE study you can remove your participation at any time by leaving the Tidepool Big Data Donation Project. These steps can only be completed using your computer at this time.
- Sign in to your Tidepool account at app.tidepool.org.
- From the top navigation bar, click Profile.
- Scroll to the Tidepool Big Data Donation Project section.
- Click Stop Sharing Data.
- Click Yes, stop sharing to confirm your choice.
Leaving the RIPPLE study also removes your participation in the Tidepool Big Data Donation Project. If you want to resume donating your diabetes data you can rejoin the Tidepool Big Data Donation Project by following the steps in this guide. Resumption in participation in the Tidepool Big Data Donation Project does not resume your participation in the RIPPLE Study.
Disconnecting your Oura account from Tidepool
If you would like to stop sharing your Oura data with Tidepool or disconnect the flow of data from Tidepool for any reason, you can disconnect your Oura account at any time.
Disconnecting from your Oura account on the Tidepool website
- From your smartphone or computer visit app.tidepool.org
- From your smartphone tap on the three lines and then Devices or from your computer click Devices
- Tap or Click Disconnect on the line that contains the ŌURA logo
Disconnecting from Tidepool on the Oura website
- From your smartphone or computer visit cloud.ouraring.com/profile
- Log in with your Oura account
- Under the Applications heading, click or tap on the option to disconnect Oura from Tidepool
Disconnecting from Tidepool using the Oura app on your smartphone
- Open the Oura app
- Tap on the hamburger icon (three lines) in the top left of the app
- Tap on Settings
- Tap on App integrations
- Tap on Tidepool
- Tap on Revoke access
