When a new connection is established, how long will it take to view data in Tidepool? | Tidepool will attempt to pull data immediately. The full download of data should be available in 10 minutes or less, depending on the amount of data. |
How much historical data does Tidepool pull in from Dexcom? | Tidepool will pull data from the start of the user’s Dexcom history. |
When I invite my patient to connect their Dexcom account, do they need to use the same email for Tidepool and Dexcom? | No, you can send the Tidepool invitation to any email address that the patient can access. Through the account linking process, the patient is instructed to enter the username/email and password associated with their Dexcom account. |
How often can I expect to see new Dexcom data in Tidepool? | After the initial data sync, Tidepool will make a request for new data at a random interval between 45 and 75 minutes. This number is randomized to balance our task queue, but you can expect fresh data about once every hour for your connected patients. |
Can I use Tidepool for real-time monitoring? | Not at this time. The most recent Dexcom data point that you can view in Tidepool will be no more recent than 1 hour from the present date and time. |
What is the most efficient way to get my patient connected to Dexcom? | Adding a new patient in Tidepool Web with an email address included and the “Connect with Dexcom” checked. This Support article walks you through each step. |
Can I invite a patient to connect their Dexcom if I am not adding them as a new patient? | Yes. From Tidepool Web, you can search for the patient and edit the patient details to add their email and check the “Connect with Dexcom” box. This Support article walks you through each step. |
Can I use this feature if I am outside of the United States? | Unfortunately, at this time our Dexcom Connection feature is only available in the United States. |
